YES. New buildings are no longer a problem-free guarantee. This type of inspection also protects you from shoddy workmanship and builders who might cut corners. A handover inspection is necessary for detecting items that need rectification before your builder’s warranty expires.

No. The inspection is an examination of the property’s current condition. The inspector will not pass or fail the structure, but explain its physical condition and indicate what needs to be repaired or replaced.

No. The inspectors aim is to report on the structures condition to help you make your decision. He can only give his advice and opinion in regards to the seriousness of the faults found and a rough idea of potential costs and action required to fix the faults.

Most structures will have at least one defect whether it is major or minor. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t purchase the property, it just lets you know in advance what to expect plus if any major defects are found you may be able to negotiate the price with the seller.

We aim to please and normally can attend to the inspection within a few days. In busier times we allow up to 10 business days. If the home is tenanted we are also required to give tenants 24 hour’s notice.

The report is emailed to you within 24 hours after the inspection.

Yes, we recommend that you contact the inspector should you have any concerns or questions. The inspector can be contacted between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm on business days. Outside of these hours will result in your call not being answered but you can leave a message where the inspector will get back to you.

Depending on the size of the structure and the severity of the defects found an inspection can take up to 3 hours. In most instances though, an inspection lasts around 1½ to 2 hours.

No. We organise all this for you. Once a day and time is scheduled, you will be notified via email.

Yes, you may attend; however, we recommend that clients do not remain onsite during the inspection to minimise potential distractions for our inspectors. Our inspection process is comprehensive and requires considerable time to ensure high-quality results. If your presence onsite is necessary, please coordinate in advance with our office staff. Unscheduled attendance is not permitted, as properties may be occupied by owners or tenants, and we need to allocate appropriate time for any onsite consultations.

YES. We cannot express enough how important a pest inspection is. Termite infestation can normally not be seen. Termites are becoming one of the largest pest problems facing home owners. Termites can cause damage that may cost you thousands to fix if they go undetected.

Yes. Copies of recent inspections are available for purchase at the same value as paid by the original client.

Yes. We take ample photographs and include them in your report. This enables you to understand exactly what and where the defect is.
